Sessional Supervisors and Mentors

Department of Juvenile Justice is NOW recruiting for community focused people to apply for the roles of Sessional Supervisors and Mentors across New South Wales.

Sessional Supervisore and Mentor Advertisement

The NSW Department of Juvenile Justice accepts applications on a continuous basis from people who are interested in becoming Sessional Supervisors and Mentors. You can download an application form and lodge it at any time.

When a sufficient number of applications have been received, applicants will be contacted by the Department to attend a selection process in their local areas.

The selection process will be conducted as required and applicants may experience some delay between various selection stages.

Successful applicants will be invited to induction training and commence work as a Sessional Supervisor or Mentor.

Manager Juvenile Justice Community Services

Responsible for the provision of quality service through the effective management of the delivery of community based programs at the local level within a cluster in accordance with relevant legislation, departmental policies, guidelines and procedures to minimise the re-offending of juvenile offenders and enhance their reintegration into the community.


Assistant Manager Juvenile Justice Community Services

Responsible for the strategic focus, direction and positive development of the designated Community Services. This is achieved through leading, directing, supporting, and motivating staff to ensure the care, supervision and development of young people in full compliance with all relevant legislation and departmental policies.


Juvenile Justice Officer

Responsible for assessment, supervision, community support and participation in pre-court diversionary schemes for juvenile offenders. This includes informing juvenile offenders of legal rights, various liaising with juvenile justice centres, Court Officers, Police, families and the community networks to resolve bail and placement problems and also preparing reports for the Courts to assist in assessing the determination of the most appropriate court outcome.


Juvenile Justice Counsellor

  • Alcohol and Other Drugs

  • Violent Offenders Program

  • Sexual Offenders Program

Responsible for providing a range of services including assessment, counselling, supervision, group work and other programs in a community based setting.


Program Support Officer

Responsible for providing regional based strategic program planning, monitoring and evaluation for community based initiatives. Also includes the development, implementation and maintenance of community consultation and liaison between the department and the community.
